Teen and Adult Acne
Are you frustrated with constant Acne Flair ups? Feel like you consistently have to hide your skin?
Acne is an extremely common skin condition that occurs when the hair follicle openings under the skin become clogged. Acne can present itself as mild (Grade 1) or severe (Grade 4) and usually starts in teenage years.
Oil and dead skin cell plug the pores, and outbreaks of lesions (pimples or zits) can happen. If these openings are large the blockages form blackheads (small flat spots with a dark appearance). If the openings are small the clogs take the form of whiteheads) small, white bumps filled with puss).
The goals of treatments are to help heal active acne lesions, stop any new lesions from forming and prevent scarring.
