On a daily basis your skin is exposed to harsh elements, from environmental toxins to sun damage, which in turn makes the skin appear dull and aged. Dermaplaning is a noninvasive, exfoliating skin treatment that manually removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz from the face. Before the procedure the skin is cleansed to remove any bacteria, oil and dirt. A specialty beauty oil is then applied to the skin to ensure a smooth treatment with no tugging at the skin. While holding the skin taut, a sterile 10-gauge blade is passed across the skin at a 45-degree angle. This removes the top layer of dead skin revealing newer skin under the surface. After this, your skin will be wiped down with a warm towel to cleanse.
Dermaplaning is a completely painless procedure! Although a medical grade scalpel is used it is simply glided across the skin so that no incision is ever made. Specialty beauty oil is applied to reduce the friction of the blade so it doesn’t tug at the skin but still remains effective at skimming the outermost layer of dead skin.
This treatment is extremely safe when performed by an experienced Medical Esthetician. It is non-invasive and safe for pregnant and nursing women.
We recommend dermaplaning be performed monthly. The exfoliation is key to maintaining a healthy skincare regimen.
